During football season, JuJu Smith-Schuster has his sights set on the field. On Friday, his focus was on helping local kids to see.
The Pittsburgh Steelers receiver is teaming with the Vision To Learn program to get free eye exams and glasses for children who need vision care.
"Fun fact: I used to wear glasses growing up as a kid, and I loved it. I think it's very, very cool. I think you guys should embrace it," Smith-Schuster told students at King PreK-8 on the North Side. "You guys need to take care of your eyes. It can help you at school, help you at home, with your friends, being able to play sports and even playing video games."
Vision To Learn is working with Pittsburgh Public Schools on the new initiative, which the nonprofit organization hopes to expand to more local school districts.
